Grade: C+

Avoid this guy, his syllabus may fool you with having 90% as solid A and having 5 online quizzes, but he's teaching is the worst. When it comes up to quizzes and midterms, they are impossible to get full score. I just wish I dropped the class before the first quiz was graded, at least I could've changed the section or the class for easier one.

March's 32B is the easiest mathematics major course I've ever take, and this is definitely an easy A class.
He provides notes and sample exams of previous quarters which makes the midterms and final very very easy, as long as you go through and understand all the questions of those materials. Besides, his HWs are all optional, while his lecture is very clear and well structured. Overall, March is one of the best math professors I've ever met, and you absolutely wont regret taking his class if you want an easy A.

For the final, I ended up submitting about 40 pages of proofs to CCLE (not lying). Not only were the problems very long, but they are very hard and took me almost the entire 24 hours to finish. If it was a homework assignment, I would understand. However, this is was a final and we had only 24 hours to do it. I ended up spending every minute of the 24 hours and I almost lost my mind. Like the other reviewers said, please save yourself and avoid this class with this professor. After every week passed by, more and more people dropped and I honestly wish I had just dropped because this class really affected my mental health and caused me severe anxiety. It was a very isolating experience as well because it seems like there was no way to get help, as there was no HW due and everything was an assessment (Quiz/Midterm/Final). The problems he posts do not resemble anything from the midterms so very quickly people realized there is not really a point of doing the HW. The only thing you can really do is pay attention in class and try to understand the notes.

As over reviews mention, I would avoid this professor at least in online class.
However, there are some good things. His lectures are basically him readiing his typed notes, which he publishes online, so you can basically skip them. Additionally, homeworks were optional, so you can skip them too. If you do skip though you better prepare for the tests, because they will be difficult. But if you're the right kind of student then this could be a good teacher for you. I just wouldn't recommend him for most people I know.

Being a math prodigy and having the ability to teach are 2 completely different things. Professor Boedihardjo's lectures are pretty underwhelming. He often gives non-standard proofs that he comes up with himself. The problem with that is they are generally hard to follow and we don't usually end up gaining any insight about what is trying to be proved. For example, his construction of the reals made no sense to me. I don't understand why he couldn't have just did the standard Cauchy sequence or dedekind cut stuff, but maybe I don't deserve to be in honors then. Also, the professor is quite unenthusiastic, so the lectures will be dry. Further, his voice is ridiculously monotone, adding to the dryness of the lectures. The last and really most important criticism I have is that he gives literally no intuition for any concepts. I left the class with no intuition for what compactness, completeness, etc are, except for what their definitions are. I know the guy is a straight up genius and will likely prove something substantial in his lifetime, but as a teacher I wouldn't recommend.

Honestly, I was initially worried about this class because I hadn't done anything calculus-related in a year, but you really only need to know basic derivation and integration for this class. March's lectures are very organized and he posts a concise summary of each lecture on CCLE after class. He is also very clear about his expectations, which I really, really appreciated. For every quiz and exam, he will give you an outline of exactly what each question will be about and how many points it will be worth so you know exactly what to study. There are no surprises and the tests are all very fair, so as long as you do the work you should be able to succeed in this class. It is 10% homework, 20% quizzes, 20% first midterm, 20% second midterm, and 30% final. Overall, I had a very enjoyable experience in this class and I would 100% take it again. Also, if Ben ever TAs for this class again ENROLL IN HIS SECTION. He is so, so helpful.

The March way is to not make things more complicated and harder for yourself which is the best way...
Lectures were explained super concisely. Usually, I get confused from lectures and read the textbook, but I did not even touch the textbook this quarter. He has pre-typed out notes during lecture, which are great because there is no time wasted writing out and solving all the equations. Homework was optional, although I did all of them which was completely adequate preparation for quizzes and exams. He even includes full solutions to those homework questions, which is honestly just amazing. No surprises on exams, they reflect what is taught in class exactly.
TLDR March is so clear and will get rid of confusion in a confusing class

I didn't expect this class to be easy like this. Prof. Boedihardjo made the class so much simpler. The course materials, quizzes, and exams were all straightforward. Homework is optional too.

To be honest, this is an easy A, but at the end of the day, I don't feel that I have learned much.
