Professor King is wonderful! She made the lectures engaging and completely worth her students' time. The class is very straightforward- reading check quizzes, three essays, a midterm, and a final. Your grade definitely depends on the TA that you have, so if you note that your TA thinks this class should be graded like it's an Upper Div (it shouldn't be), just switch sections.

I took Comparative Literature 2AW, but that's not an option to select on this website. Professor King was an awesome teacher. Her lectures were never boring--you can tell that she's really passionate about what she's teaching and she makes the lectures really interesting because she has such a unique take on everyhing. She is really concerned with making sure everyone does well in the class. There were three essays, none of which were too hard, and the midterm and final were a breeze. I highly recommend a class with this remarkable woman.

Professor King puts on a very good course. She is smart, informative, and very warm during her office hours (good xenia). Her lectures are smooth and interesting, and she always opens up the floor for questions. Tests are all essay; read the material you should do fine. Note: Lorenzo Garcia is the best TA I've ever had at UCLA. He is very helpful and works hard to make sure you will become a better writer. He is so enthusiastic about Greek literature and makes every section fun. If you want to improve your writing, take a class with Lorenzo, I can't say enough nice things about him.

Winter 2019 - Professor King is an engaging and passionate instructor. I highly recommend this course, or really any course you can get with her. She cares about her students and works with them to tailor projects and essays to student's specific interests. The assignment load for this course is light, a presentation, a take home midterm essay, a term paper, and a final take home essay exam. It is an easy course without being boring. Highly recommend for anyone interested in literature.
