Short homework, although he only chooses all even problems so you can't check your answers in the back of the textbook. Tests are EXTREMELY HARD (final average was a 39%). Elementary calculus should never be this tough. Lectures are pointless, as he pretty much only proves theorems. However, the curve is pretty generous given that everybody fails his tests. He's definitely a genius from a different planet, but doesn't have a clue about how to teach.

Zhang's class is not bad. Lectures can get boring and his accent can be a little hard to understand, but he is pretty clear most of the time. In order to pass his class, you need to pay attention to SPECIFIC problems that he works in lecture, because similar problems ended up being on the exams. He's pretty good about answering questions but doesn't quite know how to explain them in the best way.
His homeworks are short, maybe around 10-12 questions each week. Exams were reasonable, and he curves generously. He also tells you what will be on the exams, but some problems were extremely difficult. Again, not a problem because he curves fairly.
My TA was also helpful in helping me understand problems, but I just kept working practice problems from the book on my own, and ended up with a decent grade.
