I really liked this class!!

Nogami Sensei is very understanding, and I believe wants you to succeed. I think that if you are taking this class, you should expect a challenge -- the grading for participation can be rigorous, because you have to answer correctly in order to get credit towards your grade. This can be difficult during advanced reading sections, but it keeps you on your toes. Luckily, this is a very small portion of your overall grade.

Homework, however, is the strong majority of your grade, so take it seriously! There are only ~3-4 assignments that are based off the readings. The take-home final is the same format as the homework, so it is expectable and fair.

I loved the content that Nogami Sensei chose to lecture on, and felt that her textual choices were tasteful and relevant to the modern day Japanese society. I felt as though I learned a lot culturally about Japanese society that I otherwise wouldn't have had I not taken this class.

Overall, this class was quite challenging, but rewarding! 頑張って!
