Very arrogant guy. Not willing to answer questions, and lectures are not well-prepared. Do not recommend to take.
To be honest, I learn nothing from his lecture. Throughout the quarter, I learn everything by myself.
I feel that he does not care about his students, and gives unprepared lectures. Don't take this guy.
His lectures are terrible.
Extremely terrible professor
Horrible professor. Says he cares about teaching but doesn't really seem to like talking about the material or answering questions. Spends most of his time on tangential rants. He often steps away from the board and looks at the ground while pacing around the front of the class and talking; that's your cue to nap because he's going to rant. He is condescending while answering questions and is quick to say that a question is uninteresting. I taught myself all the content. Most people skip lectures. They don't miss much.
He does not care much about his students, and his lectures are very unorganized.
Yaroslav is a knowledgeable professor and I learned a lot of important physics in the class. He is, however, a lackluster lecturer, but if you read the textbook, you'll be able to understand whats going on 99% of the time. His tests are very reasonable and he pulls a lot from the textbooks and homework. Sometimes there is time pressure during the tests. Although the averages were in the 50s and 60s, I think it's due to a lack of preparation. The homework was 4-5 problems from Griffiths and the pace was on the slower side. The lectures were mostly beneficial for a more philosophical understanding of quantum mechanics and his notation was at times difficult to follow. I would highly recommend this class though and Yaroslav is a funny guy.
