Conley is an amazing professor, great lecturer and very willing to help. His review sessions are very long and very thorough and you can tell he puts his heart into his work. Class is very easy, labs were kinda tricky, but it is easy to get credit in them and to get an A in the class.
Took this class for Winter 2020. Conley is a good Professor, however, he tends to go really fast in lectures and go over time everyday in class. Tests are very hard, confusing and are nothing like the review packets (be prepared, not believe other review on here). Computer labs are a drag and are graded on correctness with the TA’s not properly teaching student how to do them. Studied 3 days for midterm and got a C+, studied 6 days and got an A- on final. Overall grade was and A-. Conley is very passionate about the topic, however, he expects us to put in the same amount of passion as he have for the subject and that can be very stressful.
Prof. Conley really cares about students mastering the material which is evident through the mandatory lectures and videos. The videos he posts are sometimes a lot in addition to homework (there were participation questions to ensure you watched them) but they were a really helpful resource if you were confused on something. Overall you can really tell that Prof. Conley is really passionate about math and teaching and he really tried his best to make sure that everyone could succeed in the class. He was also very enthusiastic about answering questions during his office hours as well.
Professor Conley is literally the best professor I have had and probably will ever have. He's an engaging lecturer, and explains concepts super thoroughly. You can tell he cares so much about his students, having ridiculously long review sessions and always staying longer than his specified office hours. He stayed 30-45 minutes over regularly to make sure all questions were answered, only leaving when he had another commitment to run to-- and he would literally RUN to maximize his time. He's also super willing to answer questions after class, staying until every student has asked all of their questions. If I ever felt confused leaving a lecture, I was always super clear on everything after talking to him. This man is a GOD in all ways, his office hours are ridiculously helpful (especially for coding!!!) and he never makes you feel stupid for asking questions. Even though the coding can be tough, he is SO helpful and makes everything really clear-- seriously go to his coding office hours. He also makes a genuine effort to get to know his students, asking everyone he doesn't know their name (and he will remember it if you go to office hours semi-consistently) and how they're doing. I literally could not give this man more praise if I tried, he's such a genuinely kind professor and his passion has shined through in all of the interactions I've had with him (which are a fair few). I'm honestly so bummed that this quarter got put online, solely because I'm lacking the live Will Conley content I need in my life. I literally love this man. If you can, take Conley!! He will EXCEED your expectations. :)
Conley is the best professor ever. It really shows how much he cares about the students. His exam reviews are amazing.

This is the best class I have taken on UCLA campus. The professor is kind to all the students and understanding when it comes to the grading scales. There is are plenty of extra credit opportunities and getting an A is as straightforward as it gets, pay attention to the material taught in class and you can easily get an A. This is a class where you are able to talk to the professor and TAs about topics you do not understand and know you will receive a fulfilling answer and are surrounded by people who genuinely want you to learn first. If you have doubts about taking this class, you should not, this will definitely be one of the best classes you take on UCLA campus throughout your undergraduate journey.
Conley is a GOD. Take him at all costs. I was so scared about taking math in college since it was always my worst subject in high school. However, Conley made math great. I took him for both 30A and 30B and I wish I could have him for all my classes at UCLA honestly. A million thank yous to this man!!!! (Also he made our final optional during quarantine!)
Professor Conley is by far the best professor I've had at UCLA thus far. His lectures are super clear and he is always willing to go out of his way to offer extra help outside of class. I definitely recommend going to his midterm/final review sessions as they were super informative and a great review of the material.

He is the professor to have for this class. Had him online and he gave us 24 hours to take the midterms and finals. He also was very responsive and gave extensions on sapling (hw) and quizzes.
