Hands down the hardest and least just grader I've ever had. I don't know anyone who got higher than a B- on any of the essays, and he tends to assign fairly general topics, then hammers you on specifics he never even mentioned needing to be included. I'm normally an A to B+ student, and it looks like I'm getting a C this quarter, and I worked my ass off for that C. I question the value of several of the films he shows, and his insistance of taking up the entire 3 hours just to lecture can become almost unbearable. He is funny and fairly interesting during the lectures (for the first 2 hours at least) but he is just unbelivably tough on grades.
