The professor literally reads slides that he posts online, but does not explain them at all. The midterm was difficult and he added some new material that we hadn't covered in class. The final was also long and extremely difficult. The professor all responds to emails but is not helpful at all. When he posts solutions, he tells the students to just refer to the slides. He's definitely one of the worse professors in the Econ department. I would steer clear from taking this professor!

The material of the class was totally fine and really not so bad, very similar to what you learn in Econ 101. What I didn't like was the professor's attitude towards students some of the time. I personally went to some office hours and felt he was slightly condescending when answering some of my questions. Anyway, I don't think he's a terrible professor, but he's not approachable in my opinion. He also would interact with students during class while working through problems and the way he engaged them also seemed like the questions we were asking were dumb. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this professor.
I am not sure how the other review was posted already... I took the class this Fall (Fall Quarter 2017) and grades have not been posted. The professor reads slides that he posts online, but does not explain very well. The midterm was difficult and he added some new material we had not seen before. Same for the final, the final had some odd questions. The professor does not respond to emails in a timely fashion. When he posts solutions, he tells the students to just refer to the slides (which I believe he did not write himself). Overall, I would not recommend taking this class or this professor.
I loved taking this class. I had a hard time following his lectures, but he was really good at making sure we understood what was happening. The material isn't too difficult. I studied a bit, but got an A. I really recommend this class and professor!!
