I am writing this review for Victoria's DESMA 160: (Special Topics) Biotechnology & Art. Professor Vesna extremely cares about us, and her critique is very constructive and encouraging. Her lecture is very interesting, with a few workshops interspersed throughout. She understands that every student has their own pace of coming up with idea and finishing a project, so she would not push so hard on your project, which is great. She cooked us bread to eat and even pan-fried mushroom for us on class. She definitely have passion in teaching and in the topic. Certainly is she also an amazingly inspiring artist. She is very busy and is simultaneously working on a lot of projects, but she manages for them to not disturb her teaching. She also have great resources in the ART&SCI field. This is one of the best class I have taken in UCLA, and Victoria is definitely my favorite professor.
Her class was sooo horrible. She had worse attendance than me in the class. I showed up to more classes than she did. Then she tells me that she likes my ideas for my senior porfolio website. Then she completely turns 180 on me and tells me that whatever I did was not sufficient. DESMA professors usually give constructive criticisms, but she just gave criticism. A professor is supposed to let her students know what to do to improve, not make them feel bad. Let's just put it this way, she's a bitch.
