Victor is a profound teacher, not in the sense of helping students write papers, or learning how to speak well, but in teaching students about the social injustices that are all around us. Victor Narro has the ability to awaken your consciousness and gives you the opportunity to help others within the community. Don't enroll in his class thinking you are going to be able to sit back and do nothing. You will have the opportunity to do some sort of community work, and really learn about community organizing. He's very approachable and easy to talk to. Enjoy! workload for this class was weekly 2 page reflections on the readings and reflecting on our experiences at our community site. Also group powerpoint at the end of quarter. enjoy!
Victor Narro is the most amazing man you will ever meet at UCLA. He is a humble man considering all the great work he has done over the past 2 decades in the immigrant rights/labor movement. If you have the opportunity to take a class with him please do. He is not like any other professor. He actually cares about students' well-being. He is a bit unstructured and doesnt always stick to the syllabus, but everything that comes out of his mouth is invaluable.
