VASA VASA VASA...oh Vasa. I took both Drawing and color with this man and he revolutionized my entire life. My first piece of advice is to sit front center in this class or you won't be able to hear him all that well. He is quite old but--think of Vasa as a type of old school drawing book (perhaps one that da Vinci drew up) while his appearance may be dated, and his techniques picky, he is probably one of the few remaining COLOR EXPERTS in the world. This makes him seem aged but the truth is no matter how precise (as in taping methods before one paints one of the million color squares you will be painting) he is in his grading, this man is completely open and devoted to making every student the best they can be. Feel free to be a bit creative with the digital artwork in drawing, he loves new ideas as long as they stick to the methodology he provides. Good Luck with this, I just hope you guys have a good TA haha

Ve Love Vasa!!! This class was great and, even though it is required...I suggest it to everyone :) Vasa was very funny and loveable and you really get to know the programs (illustrator, photoshop, some maya). Although three hours can drag a bit, it gives you lots of time to complete the assignments. This course was not overly difficult and I think most could handle the workload given. Good luck!!

It's hard to understand him when he's speaking. I wanted to cry for the first two weeks because of this, but I got the hang of it. We used illustrator to trace objects that we photographed, which was pretty effective - I found myself to be a better drawer while sketchin' in my sketchbook after taking the class. Oh yeah, if you like cubes - you're in luck because... Vasa likes 'em too.
