The class is about such a cool topic (Asian-Am history through food) that it feels relatively easy. The grade is based fully on participation and papers. She's happy to help with papers and DO ALL THE READINGS. She tries to keep them brief so it's not too painful. Wish the class had a longer break bc 3 hours is kinda brain-melting, but overall a positive experience. Valerie is super nice
Her 191 is truly a great class. It's all about food and how Asian culture has impacted the food we eat in the U.S. The readings are interesting and the class brings real awareness about why we have so many different types of food available to us. The class becomes like a family and she's like the parent. We talk about food and share our stories and she keeps the class going by creating great topics and bringing up good questions. She's very respectful about our personal stories as well which promotes good conversation and honesty in the class. The workload is just right for a 191 and it's fun to do as well. My only problem is that I was always hungry in class cuz all we talk about is food!!
