A great professor. Very kind, understanding, approachable, and presented fairly interesting lectures. Midterm and final are made up of mostly of questions from the online test bank (the only downside being is that if you get a used book, online account access may be unavailable/expired already), some of which are also found at the end of each chapter. Short-answer questions are also from the chapter review questions, which may or may not also be assigned in the homework. He tosses questions that more than 50% of the students get wrong. You really only do need to know the basics (for the most part) for the tests to score really well. He also encourages students to come talk to him and figure out how to improve for the final if they did poorly on the midterm, but no extra credit was offered. The reading was a little dry sometimes and usually averaged 20-30 pages per chapter, and during the summer it was 2-3 chapters per week. Definitely enjoyed the class and recommend taking this professor.
*****I took Astr 3 btw...not Physics 1A*****
AWESOME and EASY! Lecture: tad dry but some topics were pretty interesting. Readings: completely unnecessary, maybe skim. Homework: kinda annoying but really helps you prepare for the final/midterms. Labs: pointless but easy. Midterms/Final: exactly from the homework, I was done in like 30 mins for all of them. Extra credit: easy and gives you 2% towards you total grade percentage.
This professor is so understanding and acknowledges that you have other classes and a life outside of school! He accomodates towards student's needs practically every week (like pushing back homework due dates or reviewing misgrading on the exams). He really wants you to do the best you can do. TAKE HIM!

Peroomian is a great professor. He is very pragmatic and does not spend time going off on tangents during lecture like many professors do. He basically introduces a concept and then does tons of examples related to that concept. I seriously have never had a professor who knows so well how students learn and models his teaching style to it. Proofs and variables go in one ear and out the other. Examples and practice problems are what help you actually learn physics. I went into his class never having taken a physics class in my life and I got an A-...not because it was easy, but because he drilled the ideas into my head so many times during lecture, it was pretty hard not to do well on his exams. Go out of your way to take Peroomian, or should I say "Vahe" (he prefers to be called by his first name). You will do well in his class and learn a lot.
Physics teachers just don't get better than this!!!! This is my sixth year
doing physics and by far peroomian is the best teacher I ahve had. His
lectures are great and thought you do nto have to attend the lectures if you
already have a solid background in the subject, his lectures are
entertaining and informative and worth going to anyway. He is very
approachable and genuinely cares about the performance of students in his
class. He is one of the few teachers who will go that extra mile for you and
help you out in the best way possible. He knows the subject well and can
make even the most committed "physics-loathers" stick with the subject and
enjoy it. The best ways to get the most out of his classes are to complete
the homework on a regular basis and to attend his review sessions. His exams are set up such that in the midterms he gives you 5 questions and you have to do any 4 questions and his final has 10 questions and you have to do any 8. The first midterm is usually really easy because the material isn't very intense but the second and midterm and final get progressively harder. He's an
enthusiastic teacher and his classes get filled up really fast so make sure
it's the first class you sign up for! Overall, if you have vahe as your
physics teacher, consider yourself very lucky and make sure he knows who you
are!!!!!
Professor Peroomian understands physics incredibly well. Unlike your High School physics teacher, he enjoys the subject and knows how to teach it (which by the way is incredibly hard). Seeing as how I am extremely intersted in physics, I enjoyed the class. However, if you do not like physics, and are not interested in pursuing a physical science major, take one of the other physics series. Peroomian is great at explaining difficult concepts to those who dont understand him, as long as you attend his office hours. Take this class as long as you want to take it, or you might be in trouble.
Peroomian is a very informative and interesting lecturer. He provides lots of examples which is very necessary for a physics class. Not only is he intelligent, but he's funny, too. He always has a positive attitude and highly encourages all to attend his office hours or make a separate appointment. His tests are very fair and are just like the homework he assigns weekly. Overall, one of the best professors I've had, especially for a more difficult subject.
This guy is the greatest physics professor ever. You don't even need to really go to lecture, even though they're really well taught..you can just show up to his review sessions for the midterms and final, and he'll tell you almost exactly what's on there and what you need to know. That given, the tests are pretty nice.
