Great class! Professor Maoz is very funny and engaging. The class is kind of demanding because you have to learn a new programming language in only 10 weeks.
There is no midterm or final for this class. Every week you have to turn in a homework and in the beginning of lecture there is a quiz. Each quiz and HW are worth 7 point and best 7 out of 9 (you have quizzes and HWs for 9 weeks cause week 1 is just lecture) count toward your grade. The last 2 points are for turning in at least 7 HW and quizzes. There is one group project thats a big chunk of your grade but it's very reasonable.
Overall, I definitely recommend taking this class.
I wasn't expecting to like this class, but I ended up loving it! Dr. Maoz is a really nice prof, and super helpful!
Grades are made up of: 1 in class debate (not at all hard), weekly quizzes (he only counts top 5 out of 7, and if you pay attention in class you don't even have to study), a newspaper summary (super simple), participation (easy if you pay attention in class), and a presentation+paper (everyone got credit for doing the presentation, and the paper could be an actual project or a proposal). He even offered 3 points EC for doing 6hrs of SONA credits.
Like I've said previously, the class is really interesting and easy if you pay attention in class. I sat in the back and could see when people were online shopping or doing other stuff on their computers. I later heard those people complain about grades, SO PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS.
