Professor was amazing. Actually cares about you. Did a hell of a job teaching the concepts of each topic while also providing step by step instructions for each method. Ideal teaching method I would say. Also did an amazing job incorporating real life examples into the subject and not just doing theoretical and contrived math. Only downside is that the subject itself is a bit tough but the person teaching it does a great job lecturing. 10 out of 10 would recommend

Something initially felt off about him having a perfect 5.0 rating, but after taking the class, I completely understand. He presents class material perfectly so that lectures are all you need for homework problems. He genuinely cares about every student, and you can tell by the way he speaks or writes to you individually. Some of the MATLAB assignments are very challenging, but he is committed to helping you learn, and is readily willing to grant extensions if it will give you time to better understand the material. I've heard horror stories of other professors teaching this class, so if Clites is an option, take him!!

Nicest and most helpful professor that I've had. He posts lecture slides before and after class, walks you through all of the steps, and really likes using real life examples. It's a lot of application, and he likes to use Matlab more than other professors that teach this same class. I took this course with no Matlab experience and was able to do okay. He drops the lowest problem set score and lowest quiz score which is really helpful because some of the programming gets pretty annoying. Beware that the 24 hour take home final asks for you to create your own scenario where you can use a second differential equation, and it can't be from one in class. I think that's what ultimately led me from an A to an A-. Take it with him and talk to him during office hours, you won't regret it!
