I had heard good things about Professor Burnett and was thoroughly disappointed. The class consisted of a midterm, final, and weekly Economist write-ups that were collected at the end of the quarter. It was not difficult to do well on the exams because we got the essays to prep ahead of time, but 21 essays to prep for the final was ridiculous!
The main problem with this class was that we did not learn anything; Professor Burnett showed absolutely no enthusiasm for the subject (Europe) which had potential to be very interesting. He did not seem to care if we learned the material or not; he was never in office hours and did not return emails. He had prepared slides that he just went through without expanding upon them or giving us a chance to understand the information because we were furiously copying down the slides.
In the past, I had positive experiences with the geography department, but this class both frustrated and disappointed me.
