Fall 2023 - He is a pretty chill professor and the class is a pretty chill class. I enjoyed the content and at the end of the day, I feel like I learned valuable information. His lectures are relatively dense and his slides can be a bit messy and hard to read (as they are handwritten) so it is really important to not skip class. There were no recordings in my class so if you can it might be helpful to record audio (and even video). The class had 4 HW assignments, 4 quizzes, 1 final. He does give practice quiz. I recommend summarizing the lectures for yourself after the class as he can cover lots of reactions which can pile up very fast and easily, however since the class builds on it self a lot studying for the final was pretty easy since it you basically have to know everything by the last quiz anyway. The biggest problem I had with this class was that there were just not enough practice problems and so it would have been nice if we had more practice problems. Our TA was amazing and really helpful in explaining the concepts and also graded very fair. This class is not the easiest elective, but it isn't too bad either. However, it is best to take this class after you have taken all the organic chemistry classes as there is lots of organic chemistry. Although he teaches you everything you need to know it will be ALOT easier if you already know it.

If you're currently doing some sort of targeted delivery research, then this class will help loads. The material is very interesting for those at least partially invested in the field, but even so, it's just like an upper-division organic chemistry course. Deming's lectures always have great flow to them, so you will know what's going on the entire time. The only issue is that the midterms and HW are not very well-written. This is a highly practical class, but the tests aren't that great, especially since he reuses tons of problems from old midterms and finals. So find grad students or others who have taken the course, and you will be set for a majority of problems on your own midterms and final.

Winter 2023 - I found the class a little more dry than C105. Less about getting deep into organic chemistry and more about learning a wide range of polymers, how you make them, and how you use them. A lot of pieces of information that don't individually seem that important. Almost failed out of it after the first midterm.
