I have not received my grade for this class yet as I am still taking this course, but I will update my grade once I have received it. I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE WITH THIS PROFESSOR. First, I'll talk about the content of this course. Since it is during summer session, we only have about 6 weeks to have lectures, etc. We are supposed to complete/deliver 5 speeches, but because he takes so much time critiquing each student, we were incredibly behind on the course material. When he critiques your speech, he doesn't send you any sort of rubric or evaluation on what you did wrong or even how you can improve. He's very particular and picky and wants everything to be done a certain way, and if you stray from his "model", he will continuously remind you. He is very condescending to his students and often makes borderline sexist and misogynistic remarks. He is very rude and I did not enjoy this course at all. He also somehow manages to lose all of our assignments even when we email them to him as he asks. The class is very disorganized and there really is no structure to it. The only positive thing about this class was the students in it.
DO. NOT. TAKE. COMM 1 WITH MILLER. This man consistently loses over half of the classes' assignments despite all of us resending all of them THROUGH EMAIL multiple times. His voice is also extremely difficult to understand and listen to in general. He sometimes makes jokes with misogynistic and racist undertones and is overall unbearably annoying to interact with, even on zoom.
