Prof Young is AMAZING!!! Not only are the topics he teaches interesting but he keeps you engaged! Like any other course you gotta do work but the work in this class is easy. You do one page critical commentaries on the readings and you summarize 5 scholarly articles. There is no midterm in the class. You attend solely for the purpose of learning! Some students don't go to lecture but they miss out on this amazing prof. The final is a research paper with an annotated bibliography which is totally manageable! I highly recommend this Prof. Young!

I enjoyed this class very much and find the professor very engaging and entertainng. The class is long, but well worth it, the subject matter is also entertaining. There is alot of reading and writing but nothing that can't be handled as long as you keep up with it.

I also took this class as a GE and it was totally useless. There was no point in attending class because your whole grade was based on a term paper and summaries that you had to turn in at the end of the quarter. It took the professor until May 3 to turn in the grades for the Winter quarter. So you can see he wasn't exactly very quick about turning them in and he never actually gave anything back that was graded so you have no idea on how he is going to grade any of your stuff. Totally useless class, avoid if possible.
