I am biased. I absolutely loved this professor! I took Professor Anderson for three courses: sociology of gender, sociology of education, and social psychology (I think that's the title). She was my favorite professor from undergrad! (I graduated a couple of years ago, but I still remember her.) The material is very, very interesting.

Go to her office hours! She is just a very cool person to talk with. She is very creative and artsy and loves films. She is a very interesting person, and that comes out in the way she approaches the class.

I loved how she would play excerpts from "This American Life," and the books she chose were so different from the books I had to read for other classes.

I remember she had us write journals, and they were very meaningful. I even saved a few because they remind me of the intellectual epiphanies I had through her classes. She really reads them and always left me questions to think about. If you don't b.s. these, she writes thoughtful comments.

I also remember a final project she had us do. We were supposed to try to pass as the opposite gender. This was very fun to do as well as intellectually enlightening. I realized it's really hard to pass, but one of the other girls in my group did a very good job. Some people weren't sure if she was a guy or a girl. Wonderful project!
