As a Psychology, I do not understand why I needed the course. But regardless of that, the material is difficult to grasp and Brown breezes by it without any time to allow the stuff to sink in. Just make sure you have a good TA and go to the TA's office hours. Brown does care for the students and usually curves the grades so everyone receives a B at least. Try your best and just ask questions. Overall, it's a not-so-great course but you should do okay.
I'd have to agree with a previous posting that Brown's teaching style is more complex than it should be for a Physics 10 class. He knows his material and truly cares for his students but it would help if he simplified his explanations a little more. His exams don't correlate very well with his way of teaching so you're better off learning from the book for the midterms and finals. The class overall isn't bad at all and don't worry if you get a low grade on the midterm or final. I barely got more than half right on the first midterm, did good on the second midterm and final and ended up with an A+ in the class. Simply put, Brown is a really nice guy...just put in the effort and it won't be too hard to get an A. =)
His lectures were extremely boring, and I felt that he could have explained the material in a much better way. That is to say, the course I took was for non-science majors, but oftentimes, his explanations were more complex than they could have been. Despite all this, he is a very caring professor and always takes the time to try and answer students' questions. As for his exams, they included many problems found in the homework assignments, but they were nonetheless fairly hard. Fortunately, the curve he gives for the exams more than makes up for low scores. For example, I made just over half the points on the first midterm but still got B on it according to his curve.
