If you can take a class with Spencer, DO IT!!! He's absolutely great, love this dude! Super nice, helpful, and understanding. There is a good amount of reading and writing but it is all well spaced out. The discussions we had in class were fabulous and very thought-provoking. You will improve your writing and reading in this class.

Spencer is the G.O.A.T. The attention he gives every student is remarkable although we were learning remotely. In his class, I developed as a writer and gained a more profound appreciation for literature. At the end of this class (ENGL4W), the entire class petitioned the English department to give Spencer an award because he is simply that awesome. I only wish I could take this class in person, so I could have met my peers and Spencer. This class is still very writing and reading intensive as all Writing II courses are, but Spencer made the heavy workload rather enjoyable. If you have Spencer as a teacher, you are very lucky, indeed.
