**Pros:**
* Demonstrates genuine care for student needs and answers questions during lectures.
* Approachable and communicates well with the entire class.
* The class is fairly well-structured, covering interesting material highly applicable to the field.
**Cons:**
* Assignments are often posted late; for example, final exam topics were shared only 12 hours before the exam was posted.
* It took 10 weeks to receive grades for homework assignments. However, the answer key was posted shortly after.
* The instructor missed half of the lectures, with substitutes teaching during that time.
* Homework assignments include vaguely niche questions.
* The teaching/presentation skills are fair. Mostly reads off of her slides.
* Will sometimes go on complete tangents.
* Seems more so that the Professor had too much on her plate.
I liked how discussion was run before the midterm. The TA was knowledgeable, organized, and engaging. It helped enforce the factual information and condensed it from the lecture slides. The midterm was a little more difficult than the homeworks, but was expected. I was grateful for the online formats this class adapted due to everything this quarter.
I feel that this teaching staff cared about student interests while providing everyone a quick look at nanoparticle applications within and outside of civil engineering. I am glad that I took this class towards my technical breadth requirement.
