I honestly think this was the most interesting history course I've taken, simply because of how Stein laid out the class. Instead of focusing on dates and events, she would focus on an object and then give all the cultural history relating to this object (rubber, bananas, plastic, etc.). For someone who doesn't normally like history it was very enjoyable, but she does speak pretty quickly and I always felt like I needed to take lots of notes as quickly as I could because there is no textbook; your notes are your main study tool. If you keep up with notes and actually listen, the quizzes and discussions are pretty easy. Midterm and final do definitely require some studying because there's a lot of content, but Stein is super chill and allowed us a cheat sheet to bring with us.
