This class was excellent and I am so grateful to have taken it. Coming to UCLA as a transfer student can be really overwhelming for many reasons. Too many to list. This course really familiarized me with the university and I learned so many helpful strategies to make me successful while here. I started winter quarter feeling very overwhelmed and ended it with the confidence that I understood what I needed to do while at UCLA to be successful and to maximize my impact on campus. An absolute must take for transfer students. Sabrina is wonderful and the genuine care she shows towards helping her students navigate the difficulties of making the transition was as impressive as it was motivating.
I took this as a senior and I wish I had taken it earlier. It is so helpful for students who are barely starting their UCLA education. Each week is a different resource topic, like financial aid, library resources, career center, etc. It is very informed and helpful. The assignments are reflections on how you plan on using the resources. The final was a google site we created where we presented everything we learned and hope to gain at our UCLA education. It is a very fun, easy and engaging class. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
