I feel blessed as a philosophy student to have had the ability to be taught by yet another talented Princeton grad. Do yourselves a favor and take Professor Cook. We learned a lot in this course simply because we went over the Nicomachean Ethics in detail. The book by Irwin is required. He uses slides for lecture (sometimes). There are no exams. However, there are two midterm papers. The first is 25%, the second 30%. The final paper is 35%. And with the remaining 10% for participation/discussion. Professor Cook goes beyond regular professors. He will literally come to class early and sit outside with us and discuss the book further. He is always willing to help. Take him! And UCLA please give this man some more courses to teach. He is an asset the philosophy department.
