Bobby is the most caring and engaging professor I have taken yet. He will definitely push you to become a better writer so be ready to think, analyze, and write in a manner that really asks you to bring out all the ideas that you may be too shy to share in any other class. The readings did not seem like homework most of the time, and they were readings that I would read again just because of the material that it had. I definitely recommend everyone to take English Comp 3 with Bobby. If you can, sign up for the writing program of FSP through the AAP program to take Bobby during the summer. For anyone that is lucky enough to take him during FSP, I assure you that he will make this classroom feel like a home away from home.
P.S. Attendance is mandatory in this class. Also, don't show up late to class. He takes it personally. And I mean not even 5 minutes late. Do your best to show up on time and take this class seriously. Bobby takes this class seriously and you should too.
This class was the first English class I've taken where I learned something very valuable. I saw a dramatic increase in my analytical and writing skills as I went through the class. Bobby is extremely insightful and genuinely cares about each of his students' thoughts and ideas.Though the grading may be a little harsh, it is nonetheless fair, and you are also open to discussing your grades with Bobby himself. Overall, take the class if you want to learn from a challenging, enthusiastic professor and increase your writing skills as a whole.
Bobby is a very insightful professor that taught me, for the first time, how to effectively and cogently organize an essay. His lectures often involve divergent thinking to help us understand the deeper meaning of texts and brainstorm possible ideas for our essays. Moreover, he is a genuinely nice and understanding human being. Although he is a rather thorough and oftentimes tough grader, I was lucky to receive an A.
