i am a pure math major who really loved the class and loved him as a professor he does everything a professor should do for an upper div math class, which is not go straight from the book, he created his own notes and insights about the material which was amazing, he sometimes goes above and beyond with some of the material, he goes off on tangents often, and is a bit disorganized but just as the other eval said "thats just his style" i honestly consider him one of the greatest math teachers ive had, hes also an ispiration, very brilliant man. he hand writes his assignments which is amazing he gets right to the point, and the tests are definetly easier than the homewokr. alli did to study for the tests was do the homework problems and go over his noted and the way he did the proves, and i did pretty well. HOWEVER i do not recommend takign him for a lower div math class even though i havent had him for any i could tell he would not be suitable for lower divs.

Fall 2018 - Many don’t like Greene but I think he is a brilliant professor. Although his 170A was more like 170B, he explains the material extremely well. He’s really trying to teach you the core thinking behind all the theorems and concepts instead of making people memorizing proofs. He makes handwritten notes on even the little things that he deems helpful and he really cares about student learning the material. He makes jokes every now and then to keep his lectures entertaining as well.

Review 31A: Professor Greene is seriously a terrible professor. He doesn't show enough interest in students' questions, and whenever I go to his office hours, he ignores me. Or he thinks I don't know what I am talking about. His midterms and quizzes come from the homework so that was alright. and the final is based on the midterms and homework. He also has terrible handwriting, and he jumps around the topics so often that he always leave the students handing confused at the end of the class. Of course there are always students that understood him and appreciate his efforts, trust me, I do too. But because since the first lecture I was already confused about his lecture style, I end up regretting to ever picked him in the first place.
