Professor himself is nice, and easy to approach. He definitely cares about his students and is completely fair. He allows notecards for his midterms and final as well as a chance to write to him 'excuses'/reasons why some of your test scores might have been low. In other words, you can tell him why you 'effed up' and he might consider it towards your grade. In that sense, the grade you receive is totally fair.

His lectures are easy to follow, he doesn't focus on the algebra of the problem, but more of the concept behind the problem. The weekly quizzes are easy, as long as you completed the homework that is outlined on the syllabus (it really isn't much homework..)

Definitely an 'ace-able' class if you follow go to his lectures, do your homework, make notecards for the tests, and study when necessary.

Really nice guy who actually can teach and actually cares. Does an excellent job at explaining things step-by-step. Midterms and finals are definitely reasonable. Highly recommended.

i had him for math 31A. He's such a cute professor! i loved him.
although its definitely not an easy A, he's a good teacher and he is really helpful!
you should go to his lectures. although the lecture notes aren't that
easy to copy, it will help you. i considered he tests to be hard, but the
quizzes were easy bc they are all from the hw questions. If you are one of those students who sucks at math (like me) i would recommend you to not take him. however, although my grade wasn't that good, the fact that he is the best professor so far doesn't change.
He is so cute and talking to him during his office hours are really helpful, and he does his best to help his students. although i was thinking of dropping the class, after i talked to him, i just decided to take the class and move on.

Definitely recommend him for Math 31A. The class was fairly easy (I'd taken calculus before so it was just a review for me) and he doesn't make you learn anything you don't need to know. The midterms weren't that bad - I finished really early on the first one and got a really good grade, and the second one I didn't do as well but I was still above average. He explains things pretty well in the lectures although he does take a lot of time proving everything which you don't even really need to know. Know the theorems though! On the midterm and final you get to use 3x5 index cards (1 on each midterm and 2 on the final) which is pretty helpful for remembering the theorems and formulas, but you need to know how to use them. Do the homework because a problem from the homework is on a quiz each week in discussion. I wouldn't have gone to the discussions if there weren't quizzes because those were pretty pointless. Like I said, take him for 31A!

Professor Brown is a really nice guy and very helpful during office hours, but his lectures are pretty boring. I usually wanted to fall asleep in his class. If you don't want to go to class or can't stay awake, make sure to do the homework since there is a weekly quiz during discussion on one of the homework problems. Overall, I liked Professor Brown and I'm glad he gave us a 3x5 index card to use on the midterm and two cards for the final. If you take the time to learn the material and the theory behind it, then you'll do fine on the midterms and final. Like every other class, connect theories to one another because you will need to know how one is connected to the other for certain problems on the exams.

He is an extremely nice teacher. He lets you use notecards even though most of the time u don't need it. The only problem is that he does wayyy tooo many proofs :( his class is half above C half below C I think. or that might be for every math class. anyways, he's pretty helpful during office hours. :)
