A shame that this class was impacted by the encampment protest situation, so I can only say so much. The content was incredibly interesting and offered a different perspective than what is offered in the canon of philosophy as well as critique it. The grading policy depends on what you put in and how you engage rather than getting arbitrary score percentage per assignment. He treats lecture as a discussion and helps keep it engaging. You really FEEL like you’re learning rather than putting up with a class for the sake of a grade.

In my opinion, the philos classes here are hit or miss, and this one is definitely a HIT. Take it if you perhaps have roots in Latin America and would like to learn about the overshadowed philosophy in the region. Being Mex, it helped me appreciate more where I came from, and helped realize the problems facing minorities in philos.

Amazing professor, I would recommend him to anyone interested in Mexican Philosophy. He is very approachable and modest. His grading policy is very flexible and depends on how much you want to put in. Overall, I would take him again, and wish him nothing but the best. Rekindled my love and interest in philos.
