Summer 2024 - I liked the way this class was very chill. The instructor was very chill in his teachings and very passionate. He was also respectful and made sure everyone felt welcomed in class and to ask questions. He is very encouraging and overall, his vibe is very chill and kind.

Fall 2023 - This was a very easy GE and interesting course. There isn't a very heavy workload. There are weekly reflections based on the readings for the week, most are 300-400 words. I feel that you can definitely get away with not reading everything that is assigned for the week and just focusing on what will answer the weekly prompt and you will still be fine. There is only one quiz that is worth 10% of your grade, it was fill in the blank and multiple choice, if you briefly go over the content you will do fine on the quiz. The midterm and final are both take-home essay's. His in-person lectures may sometimes be redundant, as he usually just reads off the slides but it's still a good class. When I took the course we had pre-recorded lectures on Monday's and in person lecture on Wednesday's. He is also a great professor to talk to, if you need help on your midterm or final he will definitely offer you support.

Winter 2019 - This class was super easy. I didn't really pay attention in lecture and only read one book out of the two required. Just read one book and you'll be fine and take notes on the slides because he doesn't post them on ccle. If you need any of the books from the class (Critical Race Theory or The Latino Threat) message me, I'm selling them for cheaper than the UCLA store **********

Fall 2020 - I took this as a FIAT LUX, and glad I took it. Professor Romero is a super genuine, happy, and informative person. Obviously, this class is not hard at all. The only thing required to pass is one assignment at the end of the quarter. If you identify as a Chicano/a and want to learn more about your culture, then this class will do that. Even if you're not Chicano/a, it is still interesting. Be ready to get political though. Every class turned to a political topic. Overall, easy, interesting class.
