Buddin is very boring cuz his lecturing consists of reading off of slides on his computer. The textbook is absolutely _USELESS_ so the only way to study was to drill his study questions like crazy. His tests are very similar to his exams. As far as grading, it seems fair. I went to lecture maybe 3 times during the whole quarter and still got a B+. I'm sure if you try harder than me you can easily get an A.
JUST DO ALL THE PRACTICE MIDTERMS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. DON'T GO TO LECTURE AND DONT' READ THE BOOK. DISCUSSION HELPS A LOT SO GO TO AS MANY OF THOSE AS YOU CAN. IF YOU ARE WILLING TO PUT IN THE EFFORT ITS AN EASY A FOSHO. BUT DOING 8 PRACTICE MIDTERMS THE NIGHT BEFORE THE TEST IS NO FUN.
This was a pretty easy class. Both midterms were really very easy, he gives you a whole lot of practice exams that you can study off of, and the real exams are exactly the same as the practice exams. The final was tougher, but still very manageable. I went to class but always fell asleep or did the crossword puzzle and still ended up with an A. The class is mostly self-study. The textbook is expensive, but it's the same textbook for econ 101.
His class is really boring, it's for sure you'll fall asleep. and the book is useless as everyone says. Do the practice midterms until you are very familiar with them, and you get an A. Also, sign up here for a free ipod.

I got one and you should get one too.
If you can teach yourself the material from his practice tests, you can get a very good grade. Readings aren't that important, slides aren't that important, and even discussion isn't that important. If you can teach yourself the material and his style through the exams, you'll survive easily.
All the notes for his lectures are posted on the web. He basically reads off a series of overhead slides (same as those on webpage) during lecture...Boring and ineffective teaching style (a monotonous lecturer doesn't exactly help either). The key to doing well in his class: DO HIS PRACTICE TESTS!! I had to struggle a bit w/ Buddin's class only because i'm the type who learns thru effective teaching, for those who can do well by just studying alone, however, this class should be a breeze for you.
