Be careful of taking this class with Rojas if you are a Humanities major and unfamiliar with Econ. I struggled with both midterms and the final (which was 70 questions and quite the marathon...) Rojas is a dry lecturer and I had to pay extra attention to keep from falling asleep. I believe most people in the class did well and I may be an exception. However, it is important to read over the textbook to fully understand the concepts.

Few tips:

- You can buy ANY version of the Econ textbook. I got the 6th edition and it worked well with the class.

- If your TA is not helpful, go to another TA to try to get a different explanation. My TA was hard to understand.

- Read over the textbook to understand concepts.

TO SAVE MONEY there is an online program called mindtap that Rojas highly recommends, but does not require, to pass his class. It costs $120 but find 3+ friends to share one account and split the cost. Will save you a lot of money. I did this with Econ 1 and Econ 2.

His lectures are really dry, and his just reads from his slides. The midterms are EXTREMELY easy, yet the final was just the opposite and insanely difficult.

The midterms are fair if you pay attention to the slides and read the textbook. However, the professor mainly reads the slides in class, so if you understand the material you should be fine. The professor seems nice and answers question in class should you have any.

Rojas is a pretty clear lecturer, but he basically just reads off his slides. The textbook is helpful, and Mindtap if you pay for it, but a lot of it you can just learn from the slides.

I found this class to be really hard. It is obvious that Rojas is very knowledgeable but he did a bad job of teaching it to people who had never learned econ before. The midterms and final were really hard but I know some people thought they weren't as hard as I did. On the positive side, you don't need to go to discussion section and he teaches off of the slides so it's not completely necessary for you to go to lecture.

Rojas is a great professor for Econ 1. Lectures are helpful and informative, and the midterms aren't bad (the final was pretty hard though). Mindtap was pretty helpful, at least in my experience.

You do not need to go to lectures for this class because he reads off the slides. The midterms are quite straightforward but the final is tricky.
