Schul, compared to the other Math 32A professors (from word of mouth), is definitely a good math professor. He actually takes time explaining the concepts with details and never says no when someone asks him a question. Basically, your grade in this class mostly depends on the final (option of making it 50% or 70%) with the option of dropping your lower scored midterm (which forces the final to be 70%). Just be aware that if you're a life sci student.. DO NOT take 32A... and instead take 3C. Don't make the same mistake.
Schul is a good professor-he explains the concepts logically and is very willing to help and patient during office hours. I had Dustin as my TA, and he was good as well-also very patient and available outside of discussion sections. I'm glad that I ended up with Schul as my professor. All of his tests are reasonable; your grade really depends on how much time and effort you put into understanding the material.
I thought Schul was a good professor, he explained everything great, was willing to answer anyone's question (even the people that would always ask really annoying questions). The TAs however...(Wilson and Dustin) are not very good. Wilson is a d*ck, and Dustin is just not very effective. Anytime you ask Wilson a question, he basically tells you to go f*ck urself and figure it out on your own.
Schul gave decent lectures and explained concepts well. His midterms were fairly easy, but simple mistakes can easily kill your grade. The TA's for the course were not particularly helpful - so you are pretty much on your own in terms of learning material. Those who got 5's on Calc AB and Calc BC beware - they do not prepare you very well for this course. I got 5's on both AB and BC and a C in Math 32A.
Most normal math teacher you're gonna find here. He's pretty cool, he keeps it simple, but easy tests don't leave room at the top. Little mistakes kill, but i guess he gives as many A's as other teachers for this course, which isn't that many. TA's aren't amazing, or socially accepted, to be accurate, so reading the book is all you can do. Take Schul though cuz i doubt you'll find anyone better.
