***This review is for Anthro135S, Sex, Race, and Difference in Transnational Film with professor Mankekar; Bruinwalk is being weird about this for some reason but hopefully it'll get fixed***
Love love love this class, it was such an interesting topic and introduced me to such great movies.
Grading:
3 essays - 75% (25% each, but the TAs are pretty easy graders)
Discussion section participation - 10% (my TA just did it based on attendance rather than talking)
Group presentation - 15% (pretty easy and I don't think anyone got under 15/15, and not everyone has to speak if they don't want to)
EASY CLASS!!!!!!!! Class has 3 essays (one of them being on black panther) and one group project. The essays are very chill I bullshitted mine and wrote it in one day and got a 23/25. I would recommend this class if you need an easy GE or if you like movies and want a GPA booster. Lectures are very boring though nobody really went and theyre recorded but the professor is very sweet
The lectures are difficult to sit through, very boring. Nothing on the slides, just listening to her speak for two hours straight with so much unnecessary wording that it makes everything harder to follow than it should be. The professor is passionate and sweet though I will say. There are three written assignments and a final group project. Needed this for a GE but personally wouldn't recommend it otherwise, ESPECIALLY if you're like me and don't enjoy watching movies. It is not difficult though.
