Fall 2022 - Prof Nonacs is a good guy and this was an interesting class, but I have never been more convinced of the pointlessness of a fiat lux. Two hours is a very long time to pay attention for, especially when the slides don't match with what the prof is saying and there's no incentive to do well. All this made it very easy to zone out, and because the lecture was so hard to follow, I couldn't get back on track when I snapped back to reality. Maybe there are better profs to take a fiat lux with, but I would much rather take a fourth class than attempt to find out who those profs are.

Winter 2020 - This class is heavily presentation-driven. It met five times this quarter, with the first being an introductory presentation by Professor Nonacs. The other four were reserved for group presentations of about 3-4 people each that went for about 25-30 minutes. Prior to each presentation, Professor Nonacs would give a presentation on background material to lay the foundation for the group. The workload wasn't too bad, but was more than the other fiat lux that I've taken. The fact that my group members did their parts was very helpful, but group presentations can always be a roll of the dice. Professor Nonacs was very accommodating in terms of when we wished to present and on what subject, which was nice, and his presentations were always very engaging. As the other review for this quarter said, all of us passed.

For EEB 100 he really knows his stuff and his lectures are not all that bad. However, the midterm was absolutely nothing like the practice midterm and the questions ended up being so convoluted and confusing that the midterm killed me even though I knew my stuff well. He only curves if the class average is below 75% so watch out!

Summer 2019 - I studied with much effort and dedication and despite all the work and time I had committed to this course alone, i received a grade that was much inferior to my classmates' grades (I should note, by the way, that these classmates hardly studied). I know that the grading system of professor nonacs is unfairly biased and rigged (the hardly-studying students just went to office hours and got As). Even though I did not attend oh other than 4 or so times (work schedule often conflicted with oh times), I know I studied more than these other classmates **and I should note that I'm not referring to all the classmates, but only to these specific acquaintances** Not only is his grading system very biased, but his tests are too tricky and confusing. You need to pay attention to the utilized words and the wording/syntax of the question because nonacs intentionally makes his exams by means of asking u tricky questions, essentially tricking you. Save your time and GPA and stay away from this pretentious, condescending, egotistical bigot!

Summer 2017 - He should have retired before he started. Don't expect to get useful help from him he'll end up marking you down anyways. He's outright dumb, not the brightest. The work you do is a waste of time and he'll come up with reasons to mark you down so it seems like he is capable of critical thinking and some sort of analysis.
