Perry is a state-of-the-art educator. She is very engaging and deeply cares about her students. She made herself incredibly available to the class throughout the process. The course is very "on your feet" as you learn through participating in activities to learn how to craft your own. If you're looking to not sit in a lecture hall for 2 hours, this is your class. However, if you do not want to engage deeply with the material you will be shorted in your understanding of Creative Dramatics. You write 5, 3+ page lesson plans. We use State Board standards. The writing was not difficult; however, creating creative, theatrical activities for everyday classroom subjects requires a lot of creativity. For the creative and communicative, this class with bolster you. For the shy and less creative, this class will challenge you.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR MINIMAL WORK!
The resource file takes so many hours of labor that this class almost isn't worth it unless you're interested in taking 118B. It's otherwise pretty fun and interesting, would recommend if you're interested in becoming a teacher but otherwise not so much.

Perry is one of the best professors I have ever had at ULCA. She is the kind of teacher that changes your perspective about learning in the best way. I would look forward to her classes each week. Each class was engaging and different from the next. One thing she did especially well was teach her lessons in a way that felt like a natural progression rather forced. I could tell that she had prepared thoughtfully and in depth for her lessons. When we went to make our own lesson plans, we pulled from her excellent examples of facilitating. She also always was happy to answer any questions or provide help to her students. I could not recommend this class more! You make five lesson plans, a resource file final project, and lesson plan presentation. HEAVY PARTICIPATION

I remember the work-load being heavier than I expected.
This was my first theater class and I will not take any theater class in the future.
Do not underestimate this class to be "easy."
