Great professor, just as good as everyone says he is. Really cares about his students and what he's teaching, never wants to trick anybody. Workload was very light and exams were really easy and straightforward, just do the reading or at least skim it if you can. Loved this class and would recommend it to anyone.
I took this class as a study abroad program (along with Scand 143C). Both classes were organized and engaging. The professor is extremely knowledgable about Scandinavian literature and is willing to accommodate any personal issues. Highly recommend anyone who needs to take a Writing II class to take this class.
Pat is the best professor ever! He has a smile that can brighten up the room instantly. He is such an amazing guy and this class is an easy A if you put in time into understanding the meaning behind the work. If you don't know the analysis part, it is always discussed in class and you can just use that!
Overall, such a wonderful course. Pat seriously has a contagious smile and is so chill. :))))
I took this class in the summer as a travel study program. Professor Wen was such a kind and interesting lecturer who was very well-versed in the material and explained it with much clarity. The class's readings are mostly stories and folklore which makes them extremely interesting and not a drag at all to read. There were only two papers and a few graded activities but overall it was not a stressful class and I enjoyed the class immensely! I took it together with SCAND 143C because they were offered together during the travel study and that class was also taught by Professor Wen, and really enjoyable.
