asynchronous & very light workload. would definitely recommend prof wen! selling course reader + books for a negotiable price, email me at ************* for more info
This class is the best! Super easy and actually interesting class. Patrick presents all the information in a engaging way. He also gave everyone in the class an A because of what was going on in the world.
Take this class. Honestly this class because its is super interesting and easy. I took this class A-sesh and it was online and the grading scheme is 50% weekly quiz and 50% film response/ discussion post. He has pre-recorded lectures and a weekly quiz that is based on the lectures and the weekly readings. The quizzes were very easy if you read the books and watched the lectures-- he is not trying to trick you. Also there was a discussion post that you had to do each week based on the weekly film. I 100% recommend taking this class!
I am the student who has taken his class for the whole of last year. As someone who takes his class, they all probably know there might be required reading of 1 or 2 books every week. But this is no big deal as long as you read it. All the exam is just based on that you read or not. This class is definitely not hard to get A. However, I recommend taking a class with much fun and joy. You will find such love in Scandinavian culture while you are exploring the literature with Dr. Patrick's incredible lecture. It is such losing a chance if you just take the class for easy A because there are tones of other alternatives.
The class was easy, but not what I expected at all. Since there isn't homework, our grade was basically based off of our midterm and our final, but the midterm was entirely reading comprehension. It is pretty essential to do the readings in this class because the exams are pretty heavy on detail.
Professor Wen is a man of the people. He cares for his students so much and is willing to make sacrifices to engage with his students. For the tests, he releases a list of possible questions beforehand for you to prepare. On the day of the test, he made one of the students draw a number out of a hat to determine the question. The question the student drew was the one that apparently the entire class hated, and we made that very clear. Professor Wen sensed our displeasure and promptly changed the essay question to a different one. I was astounded when he did this and I'm very grateful that he did. I 100% would recommend this class.
