10 very easy quizzes, 10 very easy discussion boards and the final was 10 screenplay pgs which was very easy. We had ONE Zoom session with our TA and peers to review the first two pages of our screenplay and honestly don't worry about it; it was super short and they aren't harsh at all. I never did the readings or watched the movies and it was still a breeze. Honestly, the easiest class I've ever taken. It was very fun and I REALLY recommend taking this class as a gpa booster or just for fun! Awesome professor and TA's!
Verducci being listed as the instructor for this course is really a stretch. This is an asynchronous course, lectures were recorded in the past by different person, and work is graded by a a TA, so Verducci is not the instructor, but rather a "facilitator" or something similar to that. Though the recorded videos are highly engaging and interesting, it really is disappointing not to have any real-time instruction. This is the only on-line asynchronous class I took in my entire career at UCLA, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone - except those that needed a fun and easy A.
I LOVED this class! it was super easy and so interesting. would definitely recommend! you learn how to read and write scripts. you create your own 10 page screenplay.
This class was so fun! I am not a film major and still throughly enjoyed learning more about screenplay writing. As long as you watch the videos, keep up with the (easy) weekly quizzes, do the discussion boards and use your TAs feedback on your writing you should get an A!
This class was honestly very easy and a random class that was open that I had to take to be a full-time student. I am glad that it was super low effort because it helped balance out my two very difficult major classes. I appreciate that it is self-paced and fun with creativity. Overall, very easy class.
Super interesting class that’s very easy. Weekly recorder video lectures by Prof. Huang are interesting and engaging. One quiz and short discussion board weekly. Overall very fun class, couldn’t recommend enough.
Fun, interesting class, learned a lot about screenwriting. Prof. Verducci was very nice and I always really enjoyed going to class.
Participation was mandatory, had to sign in at the end of every class. Grade consisted of 4 quizzes (just need to pay attention to what she says in class, review the slides), 1 treatment outlining the plot of your story, and the first 10 pages of your screenplay.
Would recommend!

Such an interesting and easy class. If you are in any way interested in film I highly recommend. Even if you aren't this is a really great class to take. Verducci does not do the lectures, they are prerecorded, but she appeared enthusiastic about the class and about students learning. Great class.
This was a really good and easy class. Lectures are pre-recorded and asynchronous so you can go at your own pace. Assignments and quizzes aren't difficult, and you get a lot of help with writing your screenplay. Discussion board points are also basically just points for completion. The professor offers three extra credit zoom sessions throughout the quarter too! Even though it was asynchronous and I didn't have that much contact with the professor I thought that she was a sweet person and I wouldn't have hesitated to ask her help if I needed it. I would recommend this class 100%!!
This class was asynchronous so there was no live lecture, just pre-recorded videos. There was no midterm, just one final that consisted of students writing the first 10 pages of their own screenplay. There are free screenwriting app options - I used one and it worked just fine. The readings are provided, and the assignments are just to read and watch the movies. You don't really have to read the screenplays, but it helps to use them as a reference if you need help formatting your screenplay. Overall, the class is very easy and informative, and it's especially useful if you plan to have a career/hobby in creative writing.
