The workload was very heavy, the weekly homework takes a lot of time to complete. The two midterms were very challenging and I was often marked off almost all of the available points for simple errors such as a missing symbol, these simple errors almost made me fail the class.

I love Professor Greene! If you have taken calc in high school, this class is not hard at all. What was really cool was that I actually now understand the concepts that I already knew. In high school, I memorized the properties but never really understood them.

I would recommend that you attend her office hours, as she, personally, will answer any questions you have about homework, or if you just want to talk, she is there. Although her tests are a little harder than the practice problems she provides, you will be fine, just know the material. Attending TA sessions is part of your final grade in the class, but the sessions are helpful in that they provide worksheets that cover past material to reinforce it.

I would 100% take this class again! :)

PAIGE GREENE IS THE SWEETEST. Her lecture style is not the best (it is hard to take notes at times because she will use any available space even if it does not follow the flow of her writing) but her exams are super straight forward! The class is easy IF you took calculus in high school (AP Calc AB carried me in this class). However the study guides are just like the test so you will do great! :)

Greene is such a kind soul. She recorded lectures. She has 2 methods to her class where one is them is she drops the worst midterm and the other is normal 2 midterms and 1 final I guess since I can't remember. There are weekly homework assignments from the textbook and online quizzes/ helpful work using inclusive access.

I am NOT a math person by any means and usually struggle with STEM stuff but I found this class to be pretty easy. If you took calc AB/calc 1 in high school, everything will be review. We started with precalc review, then moved on to limits and derivatives. There were around 9 homework assignments and homework is graded on correctness NOT just completion. There are 5 ish online (mylab) assignments as well (so you need to buy the textbook for sure), and these are also graded on correctness but you get unlimited attempts. Lowest homework grade and mylab grades are dropped. Discussion is mandatory and you get 1 free skip without it affecting your grade. Prof Greene is really sweet and genuinely wants everyone to do well. I went to her office hours and she was really helpful. She also offers different grading schemes, and one of them doesn't count the first midterm at all so if you do poorly on that then you can still do well in the class. For example, I did pretty badly on the first midterm but studied a lot for the second midterm and final and ended up with an A+ in the class. I would recommend reviewing/redoing homework problems and problems that she goes over in lecture to study for the 2 midterms and final. This class is really not bad at all and as long as you go to class most of the time and study properly you should be totally fine.

Honestly, this class was pretty easy, Professor Greene is really nice, and most people do well. This class was honestly wayyyyy easier than AP calc in high school, but I would imagine that if you've never taken calc before it might be a little confusing. Professor Greene can be a little disorganized and unclear sometimes, but she is incredibly helpful so if you ever feel confused you can definitely talk to her.

*TAKEN WHILE WE WERE IN A PANDEMIC*
I took Math 1 with Professor Greene about 2 years ago and she as an amazing professor then so I decided to take her this quarter for Math 3A and she was a great professor overall as well. I am not very strong at math but the TA that I had which was Joel broke everything up step by step which made it easier to understand since her notes are kind of messy. The class consists of weekly hw, mylabs which is another math assignment you have to complete on top homework but it's pretty easy if you do it with your friends, two midterms, and one final. It was pretty straight forward. She gave us sufficient time to finish all the exams and to finish the hws! If you are looking for a great precalculus professor and calculus professor, professor Greene is the way to go. GOOD LUCK!!

Professor Greene is an absolute gem! Her lectures can be a little dry sometimes, but they are really helpful for the homework and exams. She even gave us a lot of time for our midterms and finals due to COVID-19. There is a decent amount of work for this class. We had a written assignment and an online assignment every week. However, she puts homework problems on the test so if you understand the homework, the exams will be super easy! I only took up to honors pre-calculus in high school because that was all that was offered, but I still found Math 3A to be very doable!

~Intro~
I had Professor Greene for the entirety of the Math 3 Series, and I also LA'ed for her Math 3B as well, so this review will cover the entirety of the 3 Series with Greene. If you take her Math 3B during Fall, then you won't have her again for 3C most likely.
But if you take her Math 3A during Winter, then you can finish the entire series with her, which is honestly pretty nice, because her teaching style and testing style is super easy to get a hang of.

~Overall~
Professor Greene is a terrific Professor. Her lectures, although dry sometimes, are exactly what you need to know for her midterms and finals. Like literally, her tests are the examples she goes over in class with some numbers changed. It isn't too difficult to do well.
And as per standard in the Math Department, she'll drop the lower of the two midterms and tack it on to the Final. And she also has weekly homework sets due, but they aren't that hard, except for a couple of questions at the end that can be quite challenging, but still easily doable.

~Section~
I'm not sure if she is still doing this, with the online format and everything, but she made Discussion Sections mandatory which is a bit out of the norm for a math class, but in the end it's a free 10% of your total grade just for showing up to section.

~Math 3C with Greene~
As for Math 3C, I believe Greene only teaches it during Summer, and honestly it's a much different class than 3A and 3B, and during the fast paced Summer, it can be a little overwhelming, as you cover a variety of topics such as probability, eigenvectors, linear algebra, etc. It has a ton of material packed into the short 6 weeks and the final ends up being all over the place, but she lets you take in a cheat sheet to the final for 3C, so it ends up being okay.

~Professor Greene~
At times she can be kind of witty and make random jokes, which helps wake you up during her 9 AM lectures. That being said, if you commit to having Greene for the entire 3 Series, she only teaches it at 9 AM, which is better than an 8 AM, but still kind of trash especially since you'll have to do it for 2 quarters (winter and spring)

~Conclusion~
Professor Greene is a great professor to commit to for the 3 series. I think the 3 series content isn't too difficult, but it can be a bit different and random and can take you off guard if you don't study for it (ie semi-logs, eigenvectors, infusion rates etc). This series is easier than the 31 Series, but unlike the 31 series, a lot of the topics don't really build off of each other, which can be a good or bad thing depending on how much you study. But, Professor Greene makes the content pretty formulaic and you literally, and I mean literally, just have to memorize the process of what to do, as her tests are exactly the same thing as her examples with numbers changed here and there.
