Extremely recommend suthana. Easy ge course
No homework three quizzes one final Quizzes are non commutative and final is but they are very easy as long as you study her slides and read the chapters.
PSYCH 10, NOT PSYCH 19.
Just got my final grade for the class, and I have to say although I did slack off in the beginning, the final grade was fair.
Just because this class is Psych 10, and INTRO to Psychology, DO NOT take it lightly. It's a lot of different ideas and people and concepts, you won't be able to retain much if you just cram the night before.
Flash cards are the best way to study for this class! And don't just do the key terms, but do famous patients or experiments. She really likes the famous patients for each disorder.
Her lectures are long, 2 hours with a 10 minute break in between, but half the time she ends early. The lectures aren't the most engaging stuff you'll encounter, but it'll help you retain the information. She does lecture straight out of the book though, so if you miss lecture, it's nice to know you don't have to sweat it and ask your classmates what you missed.
Overall it's a relatively well paced class, and you should enjoy it because it's super applicable to life! Hope this helps. :)
Easy A if you like learning about the brain. Interesting material, clear presentation etc. etc.
But more importantly, she is the most intelligent and gorgeous professor you will ever meet. I think i'm in love ;_;
PSYCH 10
Her lecture is a bit fast-paced and dry. If you study the book and lecture slides, you can do well without paying attention in class.
She has 2 quizzes (15% each,) Midterm (30%,) and Final (40%.) Her exams are fair, but there's no curve. She seems generous and kind.
I would recommend taking her class.
Psych 115
Avoid at all costs.
Course Taken: Psych 115
easily one of the hardest psych classes I have taken. Her straight grading scale of 20% really isn't ideal especially with the amount of information you have to learn.
Tests are free response and multiple choice but you are tested on literally everything.
Be prepared to burn out
PSYCH 115
She had 3 midterms plus a final which was cumulative.
The exams were about 40 questions multiple choice with 5 - 6 short answer questions.
This same testing structure was applied for the cumulative final as well.
Professor Suthana was really really sweet and nice and you can tell she cared a lot about the students understanding the material but overall she dropped the ball as far as testing parameters go. Every person i've spoken to that has taken this class before with a different professor has confirmed that Suthana's structure is completely different and much more rigorous. Psych 115 w/ most other professors is taught with only multiple choice and no short answer exams and the finals is usually not cumulative and this is for an 11 week course even, let alone a 6 week...
By taking this course, you are literally walking into the wind tunnel; the theatre of screams; black hole of calcutta... be prepared.
