If you're looking for an easy A class, this is the one. Not only is this course extremely manageable and easy, but the professor is the kindest man ever and willing to help each student. The class is based on discussion and we set our desks up in a circle because he wanted to diminish the professor-student power dynamic. We would discuss the readings and he would provide additional context on important topics or any topics students had questions on. The only assignments in the course are a midterm paper, a final paper, and a participation grade. The papers had to be 2,000 words discussing each of the readings and discussing what you learned from class, so do make sure to take notes in class. My class was filled with ethnomusicology and musicology majors which made the class so much more enjoyable as I was learning things from the students too. Overall, this class was interesting and we learned so much information without feeling pressured to perform well.
THIS CLASS IS SO EASY! Not only that but the prof is literally the kindest man on earth. All you have to do is reading the assigned reading (and if u feel like its too long HE WILL ACTUALLY SHORTEN IT), come to class where we all talk about, take a few notes, and the midterm and final are just what you've learned in class. He grades easy bc what you've taken from the discussions are subjective and the essays are just so easy to write. Discussions are always fun and engaging but ig that also depends on the other people in ur class. On our last he got us all coffee, tea, and snacks we ate while we talked and played instruments.... He is such an amazing teacher and person and I hope to take him again!
