Although the readings and the guest speakers organized through this class were interesting, I was overall a little bit disappointed in the subject material in part due to some things that were said by Professor McClellan and her handling of the situation. Light workload, easy grading based on completion and heavily group project based finals and final project.
This is seriously one of the best classes I've ever taken. I haven't completed it yet but Professor McClellan is always gracious to help you and always asks the class for our feedback for improvements. She breaks it down nicely so that even though it is a heavy workload, you have a lot of different opportunities to perform well. I would absolutely take this class again.
Professor McClellan is very knowledgeable in her topic and classes are interesting. However, the workload for this class is very very heavy and she is pretty harsh on grading. Her tests are very straightforward.
Extremely down to earth type of person. Ms. McClellan knows the material well and every topic/example she described relates back to the course: environmental justice. She is extremely well organized and has a reason for why she mentions/uses what she does in slides and lecture. Flexible in grading, tests are direct, she tells you what to expect on the test, and always accepts feedback on what she can do better and ACTUALLY implements it. There's also a field trip and group presentation/paper that you won't dread because it's interesting. Also guest speakers come in. You use iClickers for attendance participation. Would take a class with her again.
