Prof. Moe has a very distinct teaching style. She will never post anything on her class website and will literally never give you more than like a day or two of advanced notice for any assignments/reading. The course reader is like $50 (which is overpriced considering it's just a bunch of newspaper articles and short stories that you can find on google) but is 100% necessary for this class. She assigns a shit ton of reading (once like 70 pages), which in itself isn't a big deal, but she expects you to take HAND-WRITTEN notes and bring them to class for the pop quizzes she gives daily that can be on any little minuscule detail from the reading. Hence, you have to write down every detail to ensure you get 100s on the quizzes. There's two papers in this class, which she basically gives you no guidance for until you get your rough draft back. Pretty much just put a bunch of quotes and bs analysis and you'll get an A on them. I honestly just didn't like the way she taught and she appeared very condescending to me. Wouldn't take the class with her again, but if you're willing to work a bunch and read and write, then you'll be fine. Also gives extra credit which is graded based on completion, so it's nbd. She also gives this bs "hotel visit" assignment where she makes you go visit a hotel and STEAL things on your own time. idk.

Selling course reader for this class for $20 (bought for ~$40). message me ********** if interested, lightly used with no highlighter or pen marks! (the coursereader is 100% required for the class!)

Dr. Moe is so nice and helpful in class! Her Eng. Comp. 3 course only consists of two essays and additional one-page homework essays on top of that. Both of the essays require you to combine movie themes with the ideas of articles that you read as part of homework. there are always reading quizzes that accompany the readings, but as long as you actually did them, you should be fine.

Also, I'm selling the course reader (about Travel and Tourism, just noting in case her class changes). Just email me at *************

The class is straightforward. There's two papers, regular quizzes that are easy if you did the readings and will count towards your class paticipation. The readings aren't too diffucult or tough to understand, and the papers are based on the readings and a movie. The theme of the class is Travel, Tourism, and the Mapping of Experience

I took this my first quarter of freshman year and really enjoyed this class and did not find it difficult to do well even though writing is not at all my forte! The workload is very do-able. You only have readings once a week or once every two weeks but you do have quizzes with every reading; however if you did the reading it is hard not to get a 100% on the quiz because the quizzes are really just meant to show that you read the material. With readings we also sometimes had homework essays which were only one page long and had to do with some aspect from the reading. We also had two five page papers due which were the greatest chunk of our grade but for each paper we had three page rough drafts due before the final draft and she would meet with each student individually to help them further their analysis on the rough draft or just give any general help. Overall I would highly recommend this class!! She is very nice and approachable and tries to keep the class interesting.

Professor Moe is super helpful and always tried to clarify. I think the discussions about the readings were great and the small class environment is helpful. Really enjoyed this class and my theme was traveling. Shes very reasonable with what the workload and always tried to be fair. Take this class if you need it for writing I and want a more chill environment.

Moe's class is very enjoyable. First of all, the workload is very easy with the only work for the first six weeks is just reading an article and having a 4 question quiz on it during the next class (where you can bring a page of notes). We had two major papers and even though I am not a good writer I still got 90s on them because Moe was helpful and showed me how to make into an A paper. Definitely take the class if you get a chance!

TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!! Professor Moe was such a good english comp 3 teacher! you honestly luck out if you get her. The topic was about traveling which is much more interesting and relatable than what I have heard about other english classes. There are usually readings for every class meeting, none were too long and the longer ones she gave you to do over the weekend. TAKE NOTES ON THE READINGS ON A SEPARATE PIECE OF PAPER. there are short quizzes at the beginning of every class. really so easy if you actually do the reading and take some sort of notes. she does the quizzes to make sure everyone reads and to focus your mind on the main concept and point of the reading. Sometimes she would assign homework essays that were 300 words and they were not meant to be stressful at all. she grades with checks and check pluses for these. two main papers- usually using the concept of one reading to help frame a concept in another. genuinely interesting work and nothing was ever too stressful. she's really nice and understanding if you need an extension of anything. she grades more on improvement of writing than writing itself. TAKE THIS CLASS WITH MOE. she's such a nice lady and genuinely taught me so many great analytical skills.

This class is not as hard as it may seem. There are readings expected to be done every class and there is usually a quiz and class discussion everyday. She tolerates tardiness and is pretty straight forward with how she wants her essays done. She often encourages going to the writing center and to her office hours only if you need clarification on any topic. The class itself is pretty interesting and participation is required. She does often send emails clarifying what is expected to be done every class does reply to emails quickly.
