Keep up with the readings, ask questions in discussion and talk to your TA about your essay in office hours (the essay is worth a large part of your grade) and you can do well in the class! It is a lot of work/time but you definitely can get an A if you apply yourself.

Typed notes REALLY help! You probably won't be able to catch EVERYTHING he says, so having notes already helps relieve some stress and definitely contributed to me getting an A!

ALSO SELLING LOSING THE NEWS FOR $5. PRICE IS NEGOTIABLE!
Overall, this class was so much work. Yes, I did get an A, but it was such a pain. Second of all, I literally came out of the final feeling horrible. I was sure I had messed up the essay questions, and I was scared of getting a B-! My best tip is to go to your TA, and really get to know them (after all, they grade your essay). In all though, this class is really useless. While the information is kinda fun to learn, it's just mindless regurgitation to weed out prospective Comm majors. I was really scared all my work would be for a terrible grade, but I guess hard work really does pay off. Good luck!
I would not recommend this class as a GE, but if you’re looking to be a Comm major, it’s not as bad as it’s made out to be. The information is actually really interesting and the lectures are engaging. The hard part is the amount of information you need to accurately memorize for the tests. It’s super important to take really clear and detailed notes, which is tough. If you can do that though and study way in advance, you’ll be totally fine
I would not take this class unless you are sure you want to major in Communications. The content is very straightforward and easily digestible but the testing is difficult. Not a lot of understanding but mostly memorization of various lists and examples.
