Professor Galant is an excellent professor and linguist. He's very passionate about linguistics, which makes his teaching very thorough. He has a great attitude and a lot of energy in class, which made class enjoyable, even though his humor is a little corny. He was also very flexible with office hours, and encouraged people to make appointments, despite the fact that he seemed very busy. I think this demonstrates his concern for student learning. Also, I thought his assignments were pretty interesting, and he's a very fair grader. I would definitely recommend Prof. Galant.
this class was much harder than spanish 5 (which i took right before) but considering the fact that spanish 5 was reallllly easy, this class wasnt that hard at all. while i breezed thru my other spanish courses, i actually had to study for this one- tests were a bit challenging because of all the lil grammatical details, and papers were critically graded for style and structure, but again, the class was not bad at all. the prof has a welcoming, humble, and fun yet intellectually vigorous way of teaching. i got a firm- or much firmer- grasp on the language and ultimately found the professor very endearing.
