Dr. Matthew Swanson knows his stuff. You can tell he's read a ton because whatever topic you pick, he’s right there with you. I took this Writing II course during a shortened summer session but managed it alongside two major classes, no problem. The workload is decent.

Grades? Well, I jumped from a C+ in Writing I to an A in his class. His feedback is spot on, so if you get a chance, visit his office hours. Trust me, it’s worth it. Discuss your thesis before you dive in, and you’ll be set.

His class materials are on point. I came in knowing nada about Shakespeare and the classics, but his presentations made everything click. If you’re trying to pick a Writing II class, Swanson's your guy. Would recommend.

Professor Swanson was an awesome instructor. We read really interesting books by Shakespeare & Toni Morrison. Overall I found the class to be very interesting. We had weekly discussion hw which only took about ten minutes. And we had two essays our midterm and final . In addition he let us do creative assignments where you can either draw a picture, write a poem, or analyze a poem or book we read in class . No quizzes which is great. 10/10 would recommend
