Quarter: N/A
Grade: N/A
Dec. 12, 2012

I took Astronomy 3 with Malkan, and found his lectures to be incredibly informative and lively.
Although his tests are difficult, he offers a lot of help to guide you through them.
I found his last lecture for the quarter to be particularly uplifting and epic. He teaches a lot more than what's in the book, and is very knowledgeable and experienced.

Course: Astronomy 3 (unlisted, not physics)

Professor Malkan has a lot of passion for astronomy which really shows through in his lectures. He tells you what is going to be on the exams during lectures, which are in general very straightforward and interesting. The people who say they get nothing from it are probably either are too tired in the morning or just have the attention span of a gnat.

He also gives exam reviews and practice tests which are very helpful. Read the book, do the homework, study a reasonable amount and you should be fine. I actually learned a lot about fascinating topics such as dark matter, relativity, quantum mechanics,star/galaxy formation, black holes, etc. I'd recommend this class for anyone with an interest in science.
