Winter 2017 - This is an upper division writing class, something that was very difficult for me, a Chicano Studies major. When writing papers, I'm not used to focusing on the words or metaphors or writing on significant scenes. English papers are not my strength, but the readings for this class were interesting. There is an in class midterm and final and also a midterm paper and final paper. The tests are pretty straightforward, they're based on the readings and terms she focuses on in class. And for the papers, the students choose their own prompt. This is both good and bad because you're able to write about something you like, but you may get writer's block when coming up with an argumentative topic.
